How I Met John Stamos

In this age of internet and social media, people share many of their life experiences. I have noticed posts and articles about people sharing their stories of meeting celebrities. I have met several people, but in this post I'd like to share my experience of the first celebrity I ever met. John Stamos.

At twelve years old, I, like millions of others, was a huge fan of Full House. I watched the show faithfully and loved every aspect of it. That year, I decided I wanted to meet John Stamos. I prayed to meet him and I believed someday it would happen. Someday came about six months after I made my prayer request. What made it so special was that it was an answered prayer and the way it happened.
I live on the West Coast, but my family and I traveled To Chicago to attend my uncle's funeral. We where there for a sad occasion, but we stayed a bit longer to spend time with our extended family. At that time I was about to have my 13th birthday. I was completely shocked and overjoyed to hear the announcement on television that John Stamos would be appearing at McCormick Place. I couldn't ask for a better birthday present. The idea that my prayer was answered and my dream of meeting John Stamos was about to come true. It was like it was meant to happen. I was only visiting Chicago at the time and John just happened to be scheduled to be there. Being only twelve going on thirteen, I had to ask for permission to go see John. Of course, I also needed a ride. My mom knew how much I wanted to meet John and was so supportive as she has always has been in everything in my life. So I definitely had permission.
After my birthday party, my mom, my aunt Sam, my aunt Lanni, and my cousin Nita went to McCormick Place to the World of Wheels show to meet John. On Saturday, February 3rd, my dream of meeting John Stamos came true.
We arrived at McCormick Place After Aunt Sam drove us there. She had been sick with a terrible chest cold, so I owe her a special thank you for taking the time to take me. Mom went for moral support. Which she always does and I am forever grateful to her for that! Aunt Yolanda didn't mind coming along, but I don't it was a big deal to her. She probably figured, "Why not, let's go meet Blackie." As that was how she thought of him. Nita was only six and probably only went because her mom, Aunt Sam was going. I think she did know he was "Uncle Jesse", but I don't know if it mattered to her.
I think I was the one who was the most excited out of all of us. After a long wait in line and much anticipation, it was finally my turn the walk on stage to meet John. I remember his beautiful mother Mrs.Stamos being there too. He looked so handsome.(He's even more gorgeous in person!) I looked into his stunning, twinkling, blue eyes as we said hello. He signed a picture I had of him and also my notebook I brought with the intention of asking him to sign. He conversed with me and my family, gave me a hug, and thanked us for coming out to see him.
Meeting John was a pleasure and a very special experience. The most special part of it all was an answer to a little girl's prayer. I'm here to tell you, God answers prayers and dreams really do come true. Thanks to God for answered prayers. Thank you John Stamos for your kindness.☺
